” When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it’s our job to share our calm, not join their chaos.” ~L.R. Knost
Being a parent and caretaker of a young child is really hard. As a licensed professional counselor who specializes in working with babies, toddlers, children, and their caregivers, I can help. I’m a strong advocate for infant mental health and have extensive knowledge and training to focus on understanding development and individual differences, building a strong attachment and supporting unique nervous systems using co-regulation. One of my specialties is working with Neurodivergence and supporting parents who struggle to understand their queer child. The LGBTQIA+ community is dear to me and I understand that you want to support your child and may not always know how.
I use an integrative approach by using a variety of therapies, including Child Parent Psychotherapy, DIR Floortime, and Theraplay. I have also utilized therapy dogs on a case-by-case basis to work through anxiety and dog phobias.
I want you to know that you are not alone in this journey. Some families find it hard to find a therapist to help your family that fits just right. I want to make that process as smooth as possible and can answer any questions you have during our initial phone consultation. In therapy with me, you will find a nonjudgmental, collaborative space that encourages regulation, growth, and change. You are not alone in this process and it takes a village to help our children and adolescents be the best versions of themselves.
